I know I live in Dublin because....
...I bought myself and the children Leapcards (aka refillable bus passes)
...today we stood in the sunshine and we were rained upon at the same time.
...I'm beginning to scoff umbrellas unless its really raining.
...I plan out my laundry by the weather report (but that does not mean anything)
...we walk everywhere here
...my Sundays are spend on the pitch, going to mass, and then doing the dreaded school uniform wash (and hoping they will be dry the next day).
...there are no screens on any of our windows.
...sausages and chips sounds like a perfectly reasonable easy dinner to me now (and by "chips", I mean "fries".)
...I know how to get around City Centre by using pubs as landmarks.
...I use the word "toilet" more (instead of bathroom)
...I want a cool sweater, knee high boots and a fabulous scarf - so I can blend in.
...I get to watch Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife before anyone else in the US
...everywhere more then 15 minutes outside the city, is "down the country."
...the second someone crosses the threshold to the house, you offer them a cuppa.
...every conversation starts with the weather being discussed.
...you thank bus drivers when you are getting off the bus.
...its ok to eat coddle here (the only place in the world it is acceptable to have sausages in a soup).
