Loire Valley - Amboise

We checked into our room at the Chateau de Perreux which was right outside of Amboise. The children thought it was really neat we were staying in a chateau for the night. I did too!! This place was pretty cool. I will put up pictures of our chateau in the next post. After we settled and got all our luggage into the room we decided to drive into Amboise to have dinner.

We walked around the town for a little while in the pouring rain. Not fun at all! The town was so cute with lots of neat shops and bakeries. I wish I had taken more pictures but its hard in the rain and cold. When we found a place to eat for dinner we went inside to sit down and warm up. Again, we had a good meal and great desserts. Of course I had my beer again with fraise syrup! I'm addicted!

Then we went back to our chateau for the night. The children were dying to get back to the room and wanted to take a bath.

This room was so neat. We had the family room suite on the top floor. You can see the stairs thru the door on the right side that go straight up to our room which is actually in the left turret of the chateau.

Gotta love a HUGE bathroom when traveling!

Joe went upstairs to put L to bed and when I came up this is what I found! L definitely misses her Daddy! I did not fall asleep that night until 2am because I was dumb and had a latte after dinner. What was I thinking? How do the French even sleep after they have coffee after dinner, and don't forget they don't start dinner until 7pm.
