Chateau de Perreux

Hallway with stairs going down to the main floor

The stair were closed off and we told the kids this was a dungeon area. They never believe us!

Sitting area off of the foyer

This was the foyer where you enter the chateau. The fireplace is original and it was lit all day long. It was wonderful to come inside to the warmth.
Then we went outside to explore the grounds. This is a patio on the upper level left side. Our bedroom is in this turret. There was a lot of construction going on at the chateau. The new owners are really putting in a lot of money to update it and make it a big place for guests.
Behind the patio there were all these caves and trails in the woods. It was fun to walk around. I have no idea even how old these are.

Staircase

On the right side below it looks like a pool, which we found out was an old aquarium that was in the caves.

There used to be a greenhouse here. It looks like they are going to renovate this too.

Another view of the patio

Looking out over the patio. You can see the pool for the chateau in the distance. There is a tunnel you take under the road.

The tunnel entrance is on the right side

This is the walkway from the chateau to the parking garage. This was dug out when the chateau was built. I have no idea why but it was pretty neat.
This was our last full day in France….so now were off to visit a few more chateaus before we drive back to Paris.
