Our Lady of Dolours

This past Sunday we went to mass at Our Lady of Dolours in Glasnevin. Dolours is the Latin word for Sorrows so its a church honoring Mary Our Lady of Sorrows. This is pretty much an ugly church that is a square inside...very interesting. Its more of a modern church that was built to replace the tin church. When a parish is established here they would put up a tin church until there was enough money to build the actual church. Then after the church was built the tin church would move to another location where a parish was starting. The Tolka River flows through the town which is very pretty. Glasnevin's irish name is Glas NaĆon meaning "steam of the infants." Don't ask me how to pronounce that. The only person in this house that seems to be able to pronounce Gaelic is T.

On Saturday we went over to my cousins house for her daughter's 5th birthday party in Donabate. Its about a 20 minute drive from our house. The children all had a great time doing relay races in the green and dancing to music on the ipod. My cousin made a wonderful curry dinner with spinach and rice. I will have to get the recipe for it. It was delicious!

The boys all dancing. These are all cousins except for
the young boy in the aqua polo.

They love to DANCE!
