First Day of School at Lollipop Lane Montessori

K and T love their schools and were so excited to go back to school today. (It's not Labor Day here in Ireland!) I could not have asked for anything more and that they were both happy. I have to say I was a little nervous sending T into unknown territory, but he did great. This really is both a huge change for them in all aspects. They both like the all boys and all girls school. I can't wait to hear about all the details when they get farther into the school year.

Today L started her first year of montessori at Lollipop Lane. What an appropriate name for this child who is addicted to sweets. On Friday she met her teachers and got to see her room. She just took off and went to play. I have to say I was a little shocked that she did not cling to me at all. The teachers were so nice and I think L is going to love preschool.

L was so excited when she woke up today. She picked out her outfit and shoes. Then she informed me what she wanted in her lunch box - cheese sandwich, water, and an apple.

L was so excited for her First Day of Preschool!

Finally...a picture of my three treasures!
I dropped off K and T at their schools. There is so much traffic going to the schools...at least 8 cars at the traffic light and roundabouts full with cars! Then we had about 10 minutes to waste because L's school does not start until 9.30 as the other two start at 9am. We pulled up and rang the doorbell for the receptionist to let us inside the building. The building is located in a little industrial park - yes its a little strange. I have to keep telling myself I'm not in the US.

L- "Mommy you are not allowed to come today. I have to go
      by myself. Ok Mommy?"

Me - "Ok Lauren I will miss you lots"

L - "Sorry Mommy"

Waiting for the door to open
And...just like that I walked L upstairs and she was gone. I tried so hard to hold back the tears until I walked outside and got back into the car. My little baby is getting so grown up. This montessori program is 5 days/week but I think I am only going to send her 2-3 times/week. I just don't think I can handle her being gone everyday even if its only until 12.30. The teacher said that many parents have done this for the same reason or they just do it for the first half of the year. I need to treasure every moment with L. Its so hard to let them go into school and give up control. Even K cried a little in the car on the way to her school because L was starting preschool today and is getting older. It just amazes me how in love K is with her little sister. K gets so upset if L does not want to hug or kiss her. She loves her soo much!

After I got home I walked up to my Godmother K's sisters house who lives literally just around the corner from us. Friends of ours had just arrived from Baltimore and I went up there for breakfast and to see them. We had a nice visit.

Before I knew it it was already time to pick L up. I was so much looking forward to seeing her and finding out about her big day! When I walked into the room she came running over to me for a BIG hug!

L - "Mommy I missed you so very much. Can I come back
      tomorrow?"

The teacher said she was a natural and had a great morning! What a huge relief even though I missed her. After that we ran over to Tesc.o to do another grocery shop!
