Home Farm FC vs. Terenure FC

On Sunday K had her first game of the season against Terenure FC in Terenure, Dublin. The weather when we got there was absolutely horrible. It was incredibly windy, rainy, and cold! The games were all running about 30 minutes behind. I left T at home and brought L with me. L was freezing! Its not so bad when its raining its the wind here that just knocks you over.  L kept asking me if she was going to get blown away. We went back into the car for awhile to warm up. 90 minutes later K finally started her game!

The net was falling down due to the high wind

I thought they played pretty well but the team still needs work on passing and positions. I learned pretty fast that there were no offsides for this age group. Which I honestly don't get since this is a U12 team. Yup..I was the parent that yelled, "no whistle...offsides ref?"(with my hands in the air of course!).  Just me yelling no one else! I'm sure the parents thought...who is this crazy American! So I stayed quiet the rest of the game. All the parents are actually fairly quiet on the sidelines. Hmm...not sure how my Joe is going to deal with that when he watches K's game next weekend. But I'm sure they did not think I was crazy when my daughter SCORED!!! K was soo happy and I think she felt like she proved herself a little to her teammates. I was so happy too! The final score was a tie 3-3.

During halftime we found a little path in the wooded area. I thought
we would take a walk and the trees would shelter L from the
wind and rain. The path led to these steps.

Then we came to this stone bridge. It was really pretty.

L found a log to sit on and look at the water.

Then the sun came out for a little while during the second
half and L found a dog. The best babysitter ever for L!

L loving the dog!

  2. I can vividly picture you with your arms up, yelling to the ref! I think you should probably not take Joe. :)
