We have arrived....

The morning we left we did some crazy last minute packing. Three of my incredible friends came over to say goodbye with treats and goodies for all of us. It was so special and touching. I'm really going to miss those girls! We had to take 2 cars to the airport since we had 5 big suitcases, 2 duffle bags, 3 backpacks, carseat, and a stroller! We had a minor issue checking in at Dulles. The lady tried to tell me that I could not have any suitcases over 50 lbs...I set her straight tho and told her she was wrong. The checkin rep then had to call a manager to help her enter our luggage weights into the system. Then she felt bad and gave Joe a pass to come to the gate with all of us. Yipee!! Once that was fixed we sailed thru security. We said our goodbyes which was very hard but we kept it short and sweet.  Our first flight was up to NYC where we connected to our Aer Lingus flight to Dublin.
We had a quick layover where we got a little snack before the long haul. The flight went by really fast. I think my days are gone with the children sleeping on the plane. K and T were awake the whole time...but who can blame them with a screen in front of each of them with new movies and video games to play. L only slept the last hour of the flight. We arrived in Dublin on Tuesday an hour early at 4am (11pm our time). The Irish weather welcomed us with misty rain. All of our luggage arrived in perfect condition and we sailed thru customs. We had two cars and a van pick us up (the cars are so tiny here we needed 2 cars for the people and the van for "the stuff").

Once we arrived at my mother's house we ate breakfast and then we all had a SIX hour nap! When we woke up went to Tesc.o's to do a grocery shop for the next few days just to get by. That night L and T went to bed at 9pm and K and I did not fall asleep until 1am. We all woke up late the next day but T got the record for sleeping the longest. 16 hours!! Thats right...16 hours!!! This boy sure does need a lot of sleep.
On Wednesday I worked on unpacking suitcases and figuring out how we are going to fit all this "stuff" into tiny places. I think its going to take a few weeks to figure out where it all goes and maybe a few trips to IKE.A to organize.

That afternoon we took a walk down to Corpus Christi girls school where K will be attending. Its pretty much a straight walk to her school and it took about 25 minutes. I'm a little nervous about her walking that length both ways but we shall see. We all tried to go to bed at 10pm last night. L fell asleep at 9pm but K and T had a hard time falling asleep. I think the three of us did not fall asleep until 1am. Our body clocks are still off..hoping tomorrow it might be a little easier.
Reminder in the airport that in Ireland you drive on the Left

Signs are in English and Gaelic almost everywhere
