Check out this view of the Wicklow mountains in the background. Could you imagine if we played on fields like this in Virginia? The views never get old here.
Home Farm lost to Cabinteely. They did not play well as a team and many passes to no where and no one. It was frustrating to watch. I decided since it was such a nice day that we should drive over to Dun Laoghaire (pronounced Dun-LEERy) since we were really close. Dun Laoghaire is a seaside town on the Dublin Bay in Country Dublin. This area used to be the major port of entry from Great Britain until the main port was moved up to Dublin.
This is called Forty Foot beach area. It used to be an old fort or something like it. In former times it was exclusively a gentlemen's bathing place. The Irish are definitely the type of people that believe swimming in the extremely cold water is healthy. The weather that day was maybe around low 50's but it very sunny. I could not believe how many kids were out in their bathing suits. I guess any chance the Irish get they get out in the water.

This is the other side of Forty Foot which is called Sandycove Beach. |
L was so excited to see the beach. The shoes and socks came off right away. The water was FREEZING! |
I told you it was COLD! |
We took a walk along the promenade. It was a fun walk along the water and we all even got a little sun - pink cheeks!!! See the two smoke stacks on the right side of the picture? You will always see those when you fly into Dublin every single time.

We all had a nice day out in the sun. I'm definitely looking forward to the warmer days when we can start doing many things outdoors. Its getting dark now around 9pm and the days will just keep getting longer and longer.
