It looks like it is forecasted to rain all.week.long. Yesterday we actually has a full sunny day and almost 50 degrees. Though both K's soccer games got cancelled because the fields were soaked from all the rain we have had in the last week. It can rain for days and they don't usually cancel games so that shows you how much rain we have had. I sure hope and pray this is the rainy season. Its so dark and dreary all day and so depressing. I'm finding that I just don't have a lot of energy and no motivation to do anything.
I think think I should have pursued meteorology in school. Because if I did I could have come to Ireland and have had the easiest job in the world, and never be fired unless I promised sunshine and 90 degree weather every day. Then again, the Irish would probably find humor in that and maybe I would get promoted. Seriously though, I wonder how much weathermen get paid here? I was watching the news today and its just one massive cloud covering the screen. "Today we have a chance of showers, tomorrow scattered showers and gale winds, the next day light rain, Thursday rain and wind." Its like they find different ways to say the EXACT same thing. I would just have to say its going to rain every day. The sun could be shining here and it still could be POURING. There has to be some kind of great job security in being a weatherman here. The Irish also seem to be obsessed with weather and talk about it all the time. Even if you pass a person on the sidewalk…"horrible day to be out walking." You always have to have an umbrella with you at all times you just never know when its going to rain. Even the children have to have them in their backpacks.
Its common on a windy day to see trash cans like this full of broken umbrellas. The umbrella gets turned inside out from the wind and thats the end of its life.
I have to say since we have been here we have seen many rainbows and double rainbows. You see rainbows before the rain, during rain, and after the rain has passed through.
The next picture I found on the internet and I thought it was pretty funny. The rainbow coming out of the Guinness truck.
I guess that's enoughventing talking about rain. I gotta go get my brollie (umbrella) and wellies so that I can pick the children up from school.
