Christmas Jumpers

I meant to post this back in December but never got around to it. In  Ireland and the UK Christmas jumpers (sweaters) have made a huge come back. Who would have ever thought? In the US we have the ugly sweater parties. Here they are in style and are sold at all stores from the cheapest to the higher end retail stores. I honestly could not believe it. In every store I went into they had their Christmas jumpers in the front of the store. Then I thought it would be fun to start taking pictures of all of them. It was very entertaining.

They sell Christmas jumpers for all ages male and female. Enjoy all the pictures. There are all different types - onesies (for adults and children), light up jumpers, flashy jumpers, etc.

It was fun just walking around and laughing at all these jumpers. My sister M and I decided to buy one for Joe. To make a very LONG story short - Joe was not updating his wish list for Christmas so my sister said she was going to buy him an ugly sweater. Joe said that was fine as long as it had snowflakes on it and a snowman. I happened to see the sweater that Joe had described in the store here and we decided we HAD to get that for Joe. Joe thought he was being funny but he asked for it. Here is Joe modeling the jumper for us on Christmas Day! I think we need to start this tradition every year of wearing Christmas jumpers. Its so fun!

This past November in Dublin they had a big fundraiser for everyone to wear their sweaters on O'Connell Street. They wanted to break the world record for the most number of Christmas jumpers worn in the same place at the same time. Dublin was trying to break their previous record of 583. Geansai Nollag means "Christmas Jumper" in Gaelic.
