Goodbye France!!!

We had an eventful drive back to Paris. It was supposed to take us a little less then 3 hours and I believe it took us over 4 hours. We got stuck in major traffic coming into Paris and we tried to use the garmin and iphone to get out of the traffic. We eventually were successful, but we went through a huge rainstorm during this whole ordeal. By this time it was pretty late and the children were starving and we were out of food in the car.

We recorded some videos to make time pass:

I have to say for the most part driving in France was pretty easy…or maybe Joe should answer that question since he did all the driving. France does a great job with signs and sometimes there are too many signs and its hard to make a quick decision.
Too much information to process!
We eventually arrived at out hotel at the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris. We checked in and brought up all of  our luggage. Then we went out to find someplace to eat which we thought would be easy, but apparently not. We ended up just looking for a McDonalds nearby. The iPhone had us arriving at the McDonalds in the middle of a roundabout - FAIL! We then used the garmin and found a McDonalds after a hundred turns and many roundabouts. We arrived there at 9.55pm and it closes at 10pm. Luckily we got there right in time! We ordered all our food and drove back to the hotel room to eat. I realized I had ordered food for everyone except K. I felt so bad! I had ordered an extra fries just in case so that ended up being K's dinner. Ugh. Joe ate quickly and went to return the rental car at Europcar and then take the shuttle to the airport, and then take the airport shuttle back to the hotel. I thought it would take him forever to do all that, but he was back quickly. The children were all asleep by the time Joe got back.  It was late and they were tired from the long day. We had early flights the next morning so we retired early too.

The next morning we got up early and took the shuttle over to the airport. I had booked our tickets so that we both arrived and departed out of the same terminal. We had to say good-bye to Joe in the terminal which was hard for all of us. But at least we had memories of a great trip in France! We arrived back in Dublin very early and Joe arrived back in Virginia via London.

The French definitely like lots of information!
