Disneyland Paris

October 28, 2013

Joe and I thought it would be fun to surprise the children and take them to Disneyland Paris. I know I know…we're in France and we are going to an American park BUT we thought it would be fun to have a little taste of home. Joe brought L's Cinderella dress-up from home and we put it on her that morning. K and T kept asking why she was going to wear Cinderalla around the city. We told them that we could either stand in line today and go up the Eiffel Tower (which they will never forgive us for that they did not get to go to the top) or take the train out to Disneyland. Disneyland won!! They were so excited!! We took the train out to the park which was about a 40 minute ride. Thank goodness it was not like the train from the airport into the city.
I was excited to go here too (and Joe) especially since it was near Halloween. The park looked incredible all decorated for the fall and Halloween. I definitely miss all the decorations and houses decorated for Halloween. You don't see any of that in Ireland.

The castle in Paris is Sleeping Beauty's and in Florida it is Cinderella's. It was neat to see a different princess castle. This castle was smaller but it was pretty cool because you could go inside and go upstairs and there were all sorts of activities and scenes that told the story of Sleeping Beauty.

Then we hit L's favorite ride…the carousel. This time is was just a one story carousel.

Lion King is one of L's favorite movies
This park is apparently more modeled after the one in California and it is much smaller then DisneyWorld in Florida. It was perfect size for just a one day trip. The children had a great time going on all the rides they knew and new ones.

L did not like the haunted mansion ride. When we got off she said, "Mommy liked it, T liked it, K liked it, and Daddy liked it..but I did not like it. When I get older I will like it too."

L went on It's a Small World - THREE times! It was also another one of her favorite rides.

L singing the tune…all night long!

They have Space Mountain Mission 2 in Paris and it was a pretty good roller coaster. I think its better then the one in Florida. K went on this twice  - once with me and once with Joe. K loved it!!

While K was on the big roller coaster with Joe I got the little ones chocolate nutella crepes to warm them up. They don't sell funnel cakes in this park just lots of different types of crepes.
Yummy nutella crepes
20,000 leagues ship…The children like this movie so they thought this was cool.

I love Disneyland at night. The buildings and rides all look so pretty. We did not stay for the fireworks since it was already pretty late. The children all had a great day (and we did too). We love Disney! ;-)
