Back to Powerscourt Estate...and the DUBS Win the All-Ireland

We took our American visitors K&S to the Powerscourt Estate in Wicklow. This was their last day in Ireland before they returned to the US. It was a beautiful day but I was not feeling very well since I think I had a sinus infection coming on. Joe stayed home with the children so that I could drive them to Powerscourt. Remember last month I took the children to the waterfall and Estate but it started raining.  We only have a 5 passenger car here so we all could not go. L informed Joe and I today that she misses her "grey car." So do I! ;-)

We all had a great lunch at the Avoca Cafe in Powersourt. It was wonderful for the four of us to hang out and we had some great laughs.

Afterwards we came back to the house and made a quick dinner for everyone. We watched the end of the All-Ireland Championship game that the Dubs were in. This is a Gaelic football championship which is equivalent to our Super-Bowl. This is a huge sport in Ireland and the players are not paid at all! They have full time jobs and practice in the mornings and evenings. At the championship game the stadium filled up - 82,000 people. It really is amazing the dedication these players have and they do not get paid.
