Decisions...Decisions....

Way back in January Joe came up with this crazy idea to move to Ireland for the year. I honestly thought he was crazy and I let the idea rest for the night. The following day Joe kept emailing and texting me several times over the day, "I really think we should consider this" and "it would be a great experience for the children", etc ( all..day..long).

Then we started to really think this idea though. The public schools over there are like our Catholic schools and they are FREE=more money in the bank for traveling, the schools are in walking distance = NO DRIVING, the school day is shorter = more time with the children! They get longer breaks throughout the school year so we would be able to do a little traveling in Europe. This would also be the last year before K goes into middle school so the timing is good, so its now or never.

The downside is Joe and I would have to be apart. Joe is going to try and get over to us every 5-6 weeks and hopefully in 2014 be able to work a little bit from Ireland. When we asked the children about being apart from Daddy - their response was "there is always Skype!" What would we do without modern technology. Another downside is I'm going to miss my family, friends, church, house, and TARGET!!

In the end we made the decision to move to Ireland and we are booked to go August 12th. We are moving in with my mother to a tiny 3 bedrooms rowhouse in Dublin.  It will definitely be an adventure but a great learning experience. I think when we return next summer we will all have an appreciation for everything we have here in the US.

IRELAND HERE WE COME!!
